Half Moon male bettas are available right now in a variety of colors. They get their name of half moon because their back tail fin is shaped like a half moon when they flare it up. For many people getting into the betta world they are attracted to the half moon first because of their large flowing tails.
Half moon bettas a bit less active then the plakats. They like to find a spot in their tanks to chill and then just hang out there with their long tails draped below them. When considering a half moon betta makes sure you don’t have anything with sharper edges in your tank as they can rip and catch their tails on it.

Prices can vary a bit with color and size, some colors are harder to get then others making them more expensive to import and breed.
